The Best Helmet For English Riding

Best Show helmets, pants, and half chaps For Hunter/Jumper!

Showing is so much fun! I love Jumping, seeing other horses show, all the learning opportunities, and of course…the outfit! When I put the outfit on, I feel so excited and ready to go! I LOVE getting all dressed up for the shows, and I hope you will too as you find clothes that are comfortable to show in. These are some brands that I love and find very comfy! 🙂

Show pants:

  • You want to be able to move nicely in your pants while showing. You don’t want them too tight or to loose either. This pic is great because it shows that the pants are tight on them, but loose enough to move. I have this exact pair and I absolutely LOVE them! They are great quality and are great for jumping. They have lasted me a long time and are pretty dang comfy in my opinion!

Show helmets:

  • Now with helmets, you need to keep in mind that it will need to have enough space for your hair once it’s up in a hair net and under your helmet ( hair nets are a pain in the butt, but hey, I didn’t pick the outfit 🙂 ). Show helmets are typically nicer than your everyday ride helmet. I have one helmet that’s just for when I ride for fun, and then another one that is only for my shows. Mine isn’t quite like this one, but it’s very similar. This helmet would be a nice pick, it’s nice and roomy and wont feel tight on your skull…which believe me, that’s the WORST feeling in the world. You do not want to be jumping with something squeezing you brain. You wont be able to think straight! 🙂 Make sure your helmet is nice and has extra room for your hair.

half chaps:

  • Half Chaps are another piece of your show outfit. You should wear them anytime you ride really. The reason we wear them, is so that way your saddle doesn’t rub your leg raw, and so the buckles or anything else don’t catch your skin…OUCH! Same with the helmet, I have two pairs of half chaps: One for riding just for fun, and one for shows only. Your show chaps will typically be nicer than your normal ones. You can use your normal ones too though! Just make sure you give them a good clean before you show. Find good quality ones that will last for a while! The ones in the picture are great, and comfy! 🙂
